Well, the candlelight and serenading must have worked!
Topeka is finally in a heat!
A heat cycle usually lasts around 3 weeks. It is during the second week that a female will be willing and able to be bred. When there has been a successful breeding she will usually deliver pups within 58 to 63 days.
When we have a successful breeding I will post and let you know approximately when we can expect puppies to be delivered!
If she does get breed successfully, I am estimating a whelping date of about mid-April.
Just letting you all know that Topeka still isn't in heat as of yet, her temp went up a bit yesterday so we are waiting to see if it continues to climb. She is still with in her normal heat cycle of 6-7 months and she is looking just a bit puffier in the back-end so I am thinking we are closing in!
With Phoenix around both she and Cairo have been pretty distracted, we may have to get some romantic music and candlelight out yet!
Speaking of Phoenix she is closing in on her 7th day with no accidents!! If she makes it my daughters will be thrilled because then they get to camp out and sleep with her,and I will be thrilled because I can call my carpet cleaning guy!!
