Unexpected C-section & spay... but we have babies!

So we had an interesting Mother's Day. Vienna was just not going into labor after her temp dropped on Wednesday, things should have progressed into labor. However, after 3 days of no nesting, no panting,  and no signs of labor she started having some colored discharge and we knew those puppies needed to come out. We took her to the vet and tried some Oxytocin, when that was unsuccessful a C-section was the only option.
Sadly, 7 puppies came out, but only 6 survived. Once the vet was able to see what was going on, we discovered her uterus was compromised. She had a thin, possibly previously torn uterus wall in one area with some scar tissue built up, combined with the scar tissue that would develop from having the c-section, any further pregnancies would have put both her and any puppies in a very high risk situation.
So we decided for her health and safety to also spay her. Happily, she is doing awesome and so are the 6 puppies. We are giving her a lot of TLC and monitoring everyone closely! We are so blessed - the story could have had a much sadder ending.
